Welcome to the Department of Legal Theory of the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University website.

The Department of Legal Theory is an academic institution focused primarily on research and teaching of the legal theory and legal philosophy, but also on a number of other related areas. The members are focused on researching the fundamental principles and concepts of law, as well as their application in various legal systems. The department provides students with a greater comprehension of legal theory and philosophy, and fosters essential skills for critical thinking and analytical abilities in the field of law. Its research results are periodically shared through scientific publications and conferences.
